2. Data We Collect

2.1 Images You Upload

  • We temporarily process pet photos you upload to generate AI responses
  • Images are NOT permanently stored on our servers
  • Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after generating a response
  • We do not create backups or copies of your images

2.2 Technical Data & Logging

We log technical metadata (NOT your images) for security, debugging, and improving our service:

  • IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention only)
  • Browser type and device information (user agent)
  • File metadata: size, type, and dimensions (NOT the actual image)
  • Processing time and success/failure status
  • Error messages (if something goes wrong)
  • Whether content was filtered (abuse detection)
  • Timestamp of each request

Important: We log only metadata about your submission. We do NOT log or store:

  • Your actual images
  • The full AI-generated responses
  • Any personally identifiable information beyond IP address

2.3 Payment Information

  • If you purchase a premium license, payment is processed by Gumroad
  • We do NOT store or have access to your credit card information
  • We only receive your license key and email (if provided by Gumroad)

2.4 Local Storage

  • Usage tracking (free daily limit counter) - stored in your browser only
  • License key validation - stored in your browser only
  • You can clear this data anytime by clearing your browser's local storage

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

  • Process your pet images and generate AI responses
  • Enforce rate limits to prevent abuse
  • Improve our service and fix technical issues
  • Prevent fraud and maintain security
  • Detect and prevent abuse attempts
  • Monitor service performance and reliability
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the service

We do NOT:

  • Sell or share your data with third parties
  • Use your images for training AI models
  • Store your images for any purpose
  • Track you across other websites
  • Share your logs with third parties (except as required by law)

4. Data Retention

Images: Deleted immediately after processing (within seconds)

Submission logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days

Rate limit data: Automatically deleted after 24 hours

License keys: Stored indefinitely (required for premium access)

What's in the submission logs? Only technical metadata:

  • IP address, file size, file type, image dimensions
  • Processing time, success/failure status, error messages
  • Whether content was filtered (abuse detection)
  • Premium status, timestamp

NOT in the logs: Your actual images, full AI responses, or any personal information beyond IP address.

5. Purpose of Logging

We maintain submission logs (metadata only, NOT images) to:

  • Prevent Abuse: Identify and block users attempting to abuse the service
  • Security: Detect attack patterns and malicious behavior
  • Debugging: Troubleshoot errors and improve service reliability
  • Performance: Monitor and optimize processing times
  • Compliance: Demonstrate that we do NOT store your images
  • Analytics: Understand usage patterns to improve the service

These logs contain NO personal information except your IP address, which is necessary for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Google Gemini AI

We use Google's Gemini AI to analyze your pet images. Images are sent to Google for processing and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6.2 Vercel (Hosting)

Our service is hosted on Vercel. Server logs and technical data are subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

6.3 Supabase (Database)

Rate limiting data and submission logs (metadata only, NOT images) are stored in Supabase. This data is subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.

6.4 Gumroad (Payments)

Premium purchases are processed through Gumroad. Payment data is subject to Gumroad's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you (submission logs with your IP)
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data (we'll delete all logs with your IP)
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request we limit how we use your data
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format (JSON/CSV)
  • Right to Object: Object to processing of your data

Note: Most data is automatically deleted within 90 days. Your images are never stored, so there's nothing to delete.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
  • Rate limiting to prevent abuse
  • Regular security audits
  • Immediate deletion of uploaded images
  • Metadata stripping from images
  • Automated log cleanup (90-day retention)
  • Content filtering to prevent abuse
